Connections is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Fargo, ND

JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance STATUS: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY:

In conjunction with Connections mission to support people with disabilities throughout the community, the Bookkeeper, reporting to the Director of Finance, provides fiscal support to include: personnel file management, account reconciliation, 401K reports, annual reporting, monthly account closings, A/P, payroll and other administrative operational responsibilities that impact the fiscal department.

SPECIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma is required and experience with customer service and bookkeeping knowledge is required. The position also requires working knowledge of computer systems and extreme attention to detail is necessary and this position requires effective organizational skills. Strong knowledge of spreadsheet software and accounting software is required

  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess a professional & respectful demeanor.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and organization, and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information
  • Must demonstrate effective written and oral skills
  • Must submit to and clear a background check as required by the Department of Human Services.
  • Must be able to communicate receptively and expressively in English.
  • Must display proficient computer skills and internet navigation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurability unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.

SCHEDULE:

Business office hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am - 4:30pm and Fridays 8:00-12:00. This position will work 36/week inside of the stated business hours (position is paid for 40 hours).

ESSENTIAL FISCAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Responsible for Account Reconcilation

2) Provide other bookkeeping duties such as 401K reports, annual reporting requirements, monthly account closings, and other reconciliations

3) Payroll

4) Accounts Payable

3) Serve as back-up to Fiscal Administrator:

ESSENTIAL BUSINESS FUNCTIONS

1) Provide support as needed to Director of Finance

2) Prepare, attend and participate in monthly supervision with immediate supervisor

3) Perform other duties as assigned.

· Adheres to Connections Policy and Procedures Manual

· Work toward improving knowledge and skills

· Maintains training credentials as required by the agency including all mandated certifications and in-services

· Demonstrates the required skills, knowledge, and ability needed to be successful

· Maintains client, personnel and agency confidences

· Responds to and follows management instructions

· Submits required documentation in accordance with agency deadlines

· Responsible for tracking own in-service hours as needed

· Uses time effectively and actively pursues available agency projects as schedule allows

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
